Tips For Being Green This Season

Whether you’re out in the garden this season or you;re just preparing to improve your l
ifestyle, there are a ton of ways you and your home or business can ‘go green’ with little
effort! In fact, most of the projects can be done for under $20 and a little bit of energy on t
he weekends at most! See below a few ways you can improve your lifestyle by doing a
bit more in terms of green function.

Buy Plants

If you didn’t know, indoor plants actually promote a healthier and greener lifestyle indoors!
Whether it’s a small pot of flowers or a basil plant in the kitchen, these plants can thrive
while they’re in your home, sucking out Co2 and promoting more healthy oxygen.
Additionally, they can make your room smell better, provide garnishes for food, and
really set the room off!

Turn Over Soil

Instead of buying more dirt and wasting the plastic bag they come in, why not ditch
the tactic and turn your own soil? This particular project only takes a bit of energy and
can really result in positive outcomes for your plants during the warmer months. Grab
your shovel, rake and more and get to work!

Consider Solar

Going solar might not be the cheapest option for you and your home, but it sure is a green
one! This small investment can pay for itself within years and can be the best addition to
your home in terms of not paying your utility bills and saving money through multiple
funnels.

While you’re at it, think about your waste practices and if there are any means in which
you can improve them before the Spring gets here! With a professional company by your
side, you can do almost anything!

Animals To Watch Out For This Spring

With spring rapidly on the way, there are a number of things to look forward to!
Warmer weather, longer days, and outdoor activities are just a few. But with the
warmer weather comes a number of not so great things as well — and one of those
are the animals and critters that come out to ‘play’ near your home. At night and
during the day, they’re certainly going to be looking for a snack. Below are a few
of the critters you should be looking out for this season, and a few ways to keep them
away.

Squirrels

Squirrels seem to multiply each spring, which can bring a ton of unwanted guests
around your home. They’re typically looking for food on grass, in garbage cans,
on bird feeders and in trees for food to munch on, but it can get to be a pain.
Instead of letting them roam free, keep them at bay by sealing up garbage cans
and adding a bit of repellent where necessary.

Raccoons

One of the smarter animals, raccoons will use their great eyesight at night and
thumbs to swindle their way into your garbage and more during the night.
To prevent this from becoming an issue, tie your garbage can lids down with
bungee cords and keep food away from open areas. Raccoons are scavengers
and will use their sense of smell and sight to track down your food and leftovers.

Bugs

Nobody wants these, but sometimes, your waste can lead to an abundance
of bugs. Make sure anything sugary, potent, or old isn’t left out in the open.
Bugs are always looking for things like fruit and meat to thrive on, and it’s hard
to get rid of them once they’re here. Make sure if you spot a few, you use repellent
in that area and check for a source of food or nesting.

Should you need help handling your waste this season, make sure someone is
professional enough to handle it. Whether you’re a home or business, make sure
you’re handling everything from residential to commercial grade waste! At City Carting,
we have 11,000 happy clients with a range of services and specialties!

3 Things That Can Improve Your Waste

With Spring looming in the distance, there are a few things to consider as the warmer season
gets closer. One of the most important aspects deals with your home and how you manage
it’s well being. When it comes to waste however, things might seem a bit black and white,
which is beneficial to helping improve your home. Below are a few ways you can improve
the waste system in your home.

Improve Your Disposal Process

It can sometimes be hard to remember to take out the trash, and routinely empty receptacles
around your home. However looking into this process and improving it can work wonders in
terms of the air quality and cleanliness of your home. Leftover garbage can cause foul odors
to permeate, while an overflowing trashcan is certainly something not worth looking at.
Consider getting you and your housemates on a schedule to reduce the amount of trash
lingering throughout your home.

Recycle Smarter

It’s one thing to think about throwing out cans and bottles when they’re done being used,
but a ton of other items can effectively be recycled as well! Plastic bags, lightbulbs and
electronics are great examples of household items that can eventually be reused in
some other form. Separate these items into sections and consult with local management
companies to see the best way in disposing these items.

Call For Help

Around your area, you might need someone who can help with taking your waste away
— which is totally OK! Whether you’re a homeowner or a local business, there are endless
ways to be able to improve your methods, which can improve the appearance of your home,
and help you get on track to a healthier lifestyle.

Instead of worrying, get in contact with someone who can help you get on the right track.
At City Carting, we’re proud to service over 11,000 homes and businesses each year,
helping them improve their waste tactics and live healthier and cleaner lives.
