3 Ways To Use Recycled Material

Recycling is something that many of us practice, yet sometimes don’t take full advantage of. You’ve heard the term about one man’s trash, but what if we told you that you could turn your own trash into your own treasure? Seems a bit far-fetched, doesn’t it? Not so much. Think about what you can do to make your own waste work for you time and time again -- see below how we do so!

Plastic Bottles

Did you know that there are tons of uses for plastic bottles? Think about this. Cutting a plastic bottle can turn into a bird feeder if you need it to, which can be hung and filled with seed for your flying friends. Additionally, you can turn it into a sprinkler for your lawn, or a timed release plant watering apparatus for when you leave on vacation for a few days! Instead of tossing them away, these can really help!

Paper

Little did you know, paper has a ton of benefits instead of sending it off to the recycling facility. For your future packages, you can stuff boxes with crumpled paper to prevent the item from shifting around. Additionally, you can use paper in some compost piles, and as makeshift insulation in places such as the garage, or where the pets might be sleeping outdoors!

Food

While it’s not always recyclable, food can be composted and used later on, so it’s technically a form of recycling. You can do this easily by tossing it into a safe compost pile and allowing it to disintegrate. When it’s done, you can use it as soil for your home and garden!
