3 Things You Shouldn't Throw Right Away

When something’s empty or finished, it’s common to open your trash and toss it away, right? And while this might seem like the best option, sometimes, it’s not the best for your home, the waste company, or the environment. Among all of the things that we believe are safe to be thrown out, there are a few that shouldn’t be tossed in with the normal allocation of trash — o what are they? Below, we’ve got a few things you should be mindful of before placing them in the garbage.

Old Hoses

Outside in the garden, hoses can sometimes end up puncturing and become unusable. What isn’t known is that those materials have to be good for something, right? Of course they do! What you can do is wind the hose into the necessary shape you’d prefer, and affix it together with zipties! When it’s done, slide it over to the area you want to use it in and let it hang out! As an added bonus, you can spray paint it a new color for added flair.

Glass Containers

When you finish with glass containers, throwing them out is the last thing you should do! Because many of these come with tops and sealing units already, the amount of things that they can be transformed into is almost endless. Pen holders, candleholders and decorative pieces are just a few!

Cereal Boxes

If you’re the type to keep magazines in the house, a cereal box is one of the most creative things you can use to make a holder for them! With some glue-on fabric and a pair of scissors, you can cut the box into a holder for up to 10 magazines, and sit them next to one another on a shelf. This is a great way to stay organized!

Of course, not everything can make it’s way into the trash, but for these special items, you can increase your waste management much better and save a bit on your decorating efforts!
