Chemicals To Not Use in 2020

With 2020 being a new decade, it’s worth taking a look at some of the things that have occurred
in the years past, and adapt or adopt new techniques that improve your quality of life, and impact
on the environment as you perform them. In terms of cleaning, chemicals readily used at home
can pose an airborne threat to you and your family/friends, so it might be time to do away with
them! Here are a few things to consider and what you can chuck into the trash and replace this
year.

Artificial Scents

We know that artificially scented cleaners are better because they make things smell better,
right? Well, if it’s only put that way, sure -- however there are some other issues lurking you
may not be aware of. Because these companies aren’t legally required to disclose the chemicals
used to make these fragrances on the bottle, you’re never sure what you’re inhaling or cleaning
with, which can be toxic and bad for everyone in the area.

Sudsy Soaps

In many cleaners, ingredients such as 1,4-dioxane, DEA, TEA, sodium laureth sulfate and
other chemicals are a big issue as they are known carcinogens that can cause toxicity in your
organs. While it might not be a huge issue to use these very sparingly, it’s recommended that
you do not inhale these things, and stick with the soaps that are much more natural and built
for simple cleaning, and that’s it.

It’s important to be educated on a lot of the things you’re spending your money on, as they
can pose serious health risks if used incorrectly. Make sure when you’re buying cleaning products,
you’re inspecting labels, and purchasing something that is scent free, all natural, non-corrosive,
and certainly not toxic in large amounts. This can help you improve the quality of your living,
improve air quality, and so much more at home.
